Gaspar Antonio Polanco

Gaspar Antonio Polanco, known by the alias 'El Grande', is a former director of Public Services in the National District's mayoralty in the Dominican Republic. Recently, he has been in the news due to his connection with a drug trafficking case in the United States, where he faces charges alongside former presidential adviser Fabio Augusto Jorge Puras. According to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), both individuals allegedly coordinated to distribute significant quantities of cocaine, with operations traced back to 2019. Polanco's past includes serving as a bodyguard for former president Hipólito Mejía.
