Gassima Nyamo-Hanga

Gassima Nyamo-Hanga was the Managing Director of the Tanzania Electric Supply Company (Tanesco) and was recognized for his leadership in expanding electricity access across Tanzania, particularly through major infrastructure upgrades and rural electrification projects. He tragically passed away in a road accident on April 12, 2025, prompting a message of condolence from President Samia Suluhu Hassan, who described his death as a significant loss to the nation.
