
Gene Lambert
Gene Lambert was a prominent Irish artist, teacher, and advocate for disability rights, known for his vibrant paintings and impactful photography. Born on March 4, 1952, in Dublin, Lambert faced significant challenges after a car accident in 1981 left him partially paralyzed, which deeply influenced his artistic vision and commitment to improving the lives of disabled individuals. He co-edited 'The Great Book of Ireland,' a large collaborative art project aimed at raising funds for a residential center for artists with disabilities. Lambert's work was celebrated for its emotional depth and innovative approach, earning him recognition in numerous exhibitions and as a member of Aosdána. He passed away on March 28, 2025.
