Geo Dumitrescu

Geo Dumitrescu was a prominent Romanian poet and journalist known for his influential works that emerged during the mid-20th century. Born in 1941, he quickly made a name for himself in the literary world with his first poetry collection, 'Aritmetica,' published in 1941. Throughout his career, Dumitrescu published numerous volumes of poetry, including 'Libertatea de a trage cu puşca,' which became emblematic of his generation. He was also a talented translator, bringing the works of international poets to Romanian audiences. His contributions to literature were recognized in 1993 when he was elected a corresponding member of the Romanian Academy.
