
George Blake
George Blake was a British-Soviet double agent who infamously betrayed British intelligence during the Cold War. Born in 1922 in Rotterdam, he became a member of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) before being exposed as a Soviet spy in the 1960s. Blake was sentenced to 42 years in prison but famously escaped in 1966, fleeing to Moscow, where he received several honors from the Soviet government, including the Order of Lenin. He lived in Russia until his death in 2020, becoming a symbol of betrayal and espionage.
