George Dawson Rowley

George Dawson Rowley was a prominent 19th-century British ornithologist, famous for his collection of bird specimens, including those of the Great Auk. After his passing in 1878, his collection was inherited by his son and subsequently auctioned, leading to the dispersion of important historical specimens.
