George Lycurgos was a 19th-century Greek immigrant who significantly impacted Hawaiian tourism by establishing one of the first beachfront resorts in Waikiki, Honolulu. His legacy is intertwined with the historical connection between Greece and Hawaii, as he learned Greek from the last king of Hawaii and became a notable figure in the local community, earning him the title 'Duke of Sparta.'
