George Worgan

George Worgan was a surgeon and diarist who sailed with the First Fleet to Australia in 1788. His journals provide a valuable historical account of early colonial life in Sydney, including observations of the abundant marine life and large sharks present in the waters of Sydney Harbour at that time. His writings contribute to our understanding of the ecological history of Australia and the interactions between early settlers and the natural environment.
