Georges Ibrahim Abdallah
Georges Ibrahim Abdallah is a Lebanese militant and founding member of the Lebanese Armed Revolutionary Factions (FARL), a Marxist, anti-imperialist organization. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in France in 1987 for his involvement in the assassinations of an American military attaché and an Israeli diplomat in 1982. Over the past four decades, Abdallah has become a symbol of resistance for some and a controversial figure in discussions surrounding terrorism and justice. Despite being eligible for parole for many years, his requests for release have consistently been denied, with the latest hearing postponed to June 19, 2024.
