Georgi Demidow
Georgi Demidow was a Russian physicist and author who spent fourteen years in the Siberian Gulag during Stalin's regime. His experiences in the harsh conditions of the labor camps inspired his literary works, which critique the brutalities of the Soviet justice system. Although his manuscripts were confiscated by the KGB in 1980, they were later returned to his family during Gorbachev's era of Perestroika. His recently translated novel 'Zwei Staatsanwälte' explores themes of morality and justice against the backdrop of totalitarianism.
