Gérard Thill

Gérard Thill, born on March 13, 1925, in Brühl, Germany, is a distinguished historian and curator who has significantly contributed to the cultural heritage of Luxembourg. After studying history and archaeology in prestigious universities in Leuven and Paris, Thill began his career as a teacher before becoming the curator of the State Museums of Luxembourg. He played a pivotal role in establishing the National Museum of History and Art and was instrumental in creating the first state archaeological service in the country. With a passion for history and the arts, Thill has been an active member of the Grand Ducal Institute and continues to influence the cultural landscape of Luxembourg as he celebrates his 100th birthday.
