Gertrud Diepolder was a pioneering historian and archaeologist known for her influential documentary work in the 1980s, including the celebrated series '… damit Jahrtausende nicht spurlos vergehen.' Her efforts significantly raised public interest in the history of early Bavaria and the importance of archaeological preservation. She was also the first female historian in the Commission for Regional History at the Bavarian Academy of Sciences.
