Gevorg Papoyan is the Minister of Economy of Armenia, known for advocating for the country's economic independence while maintaining a complex relationship with both the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Recently, he emphasized that Armenia's pursuit of EU membership does not entail abandoning its ties with the EAEU.
