Gheorghe Turda

Gheorghe Turda, born on March 6, 1948, in Săpânța, Romania, is a renowned Romanian folk music singer, celebrated for his deep connection to traditional music and culture. His musical journey began at a young age, influenced by his grandfather, a local priest, who introduced him to singing. Turda studied music at the Gheorghe Dima Music Conservatory in Cluj-Napoca and gained prominence as a soloist with various folk ensembles, notably the Rapsodia Română. Over the years, he has contributed significantly to the preservation and promotion of Romanian folk heritage through his performances and recordings.
