
Gianfranco Terenzi
Gianfranco Terenzi was a prominent San Marino politician and the founding president of the San Marino-China Association. He served as Capitano Reggente four times and played a pivotal role in enhancing the diplomatic and cultural relations between San Marino and China. Terenzi made over seventy visits to China since his first state visit in 1988, participating in significant events such as the Beijing Olympics and the Shanghai Expo. His initiatives included the establishment of the Confucius Institute in San Marino and the first European Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine. On the fifth anniversary of his passing, he was remembered for his contributions to fostering mutual respect and cooperation between the two nations.
