Gihan Zaki

Dr. Gihan Zaki is an Egyptian academic and cultural diplomat who has recently been appointed as the head of the Ministry of Culture, succeeding Dr. Ahmed Fouad Henu. Born on July 4, 1966, in Cairo, she has a distinguished academic background in Egyptology, holding a Bachelor's degree, a Master's degree, and a PhD from Lyon University, France. Zaki has held various significant roles in cultural management, including representing Egypt at UNESCO and leading the Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome, where she was the first woman to assume this role. Her contributions to cultural diplomacy and heritage preservation have earned her multiple accolades, including being recognized by UNESCO as one of the 70 women worldwide in 2015.
