Ginty Newcombe was a miner who tragically lost his life in the Strongman mine disaster of 1967, which resulted in the deaths of 18 miners and left a lasting impact on the mining community and the families of those affected, including his daughter Theresa, who visited the mine with her husband and Holman to pay homage.
