Giorgio Castellucci

Giorgio Castellucci is a former executive of Autostrade per l'Italia, who was recently sentenced to twelve years in prison for his role in the Ponte Morandi bridge collapse in Genoa, which resulted in the tragic loss of 43 lives. Accused of neglecting the maintenance of the bridge and prioritizing profits over safety, Castellucci faced significant public scrutiny following the disaster. He had been aware of the bridge's structural issues since 2009 and led the company with an autocratic approach. Despite the allegations, he maintained that he felt responsible for the incident but did not consider himself guilty.
