Giorgos Gakis

Giorgos Gakis is a farmer from the municipality of Sofades in Karditsa, Greece, who has been cultivating primarily cotton since 2003. This summer, due to severe water shortages, he decided to shift his focus to less water-intensive crops, such as durum wheat and medicinal plants, marking a significant change in his farming strategy to mitigate financial risks.
