Giovanni Crescenzi was an Italian entrepreneur who opened a drinks kiosk named Alla Fonte D’oro in Rome in 1913, which became famous for its grattachecca, a refreshing icy beverage made from shaved ice, flavored syrup, and fruit. The kiosk, now managed by Crescenzi's granddaughter Rosanna and her son, has become a beloved institution in the city, serving as a vital respite from the heat for both locals and tourists alike.
