Giovanni Guareschi

An Italian writer and journalist, Guareschi is best known for his creation of the characters Don Camillo and Peppone, whose stories reflect the social and political tensions in post-war Italy. He was also a staunch anti-communist and wrote extensively on his views during and after World War II.
