Gisela De León

Gisela De León is the director of the Center for Justice and International Law (CEJIL), an organization dedicated to the defense of human rights in the Americas. With over 30 years of experience, CEJIL has been at the forefront of advocating for the protection of civil liberties, including the right to freedom of expression. De León has been vocal in warning that Costa Rica could face international responsibility if the upcoming auction of radio and television frequencies is conducted solely on economic criteria, which could undermine access to diverse media voices, particularly for marginalized communities.
