Giuliano Vaia

Giuliano Vaia was the head of the fire brigade in Tesero during the Stava disaster in 1985. He was among the first responders to the catastrophic mudslide and vividly recalls the harrowing conditions and the loss of his family members, which included his sister and four nephews. His experiences highlight the personal tragedies faced by rescuers during major disasters.
