Glen Dempsey

Glen Dempsey, a 42-year-old father of five from Clondalkin, Dublin, recently made headlines after pleading guilty to possessing a submachine gun, which was discovered in a sophisticated hidden compartment in his car. He was arrested by Gardaí after a search of his home and vehicle, where a Czech-made Skorpion firearm along with ammunition and a silencer were found. Dempsey claimed he was under threat from a gang to hold the firearm, which had been in his possession for several months. His case is pending sentencing in the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
