Gökhan Şahin Sönmezateş

Gökhan Şahin Sönmezateş is a former Turkish general implicated in the FETÖ coup attempt of July 15, 2016. He was identified as one of the key figures in the assassination team that targeted President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during the coup. Following the failed coup, Sönmezateş was arrested and faced multiple charges related to his involvement in orchestrating the attacks and leading the assassination efforts against high-ranking officials.
