Gregorio Prem Beteta

Gregorio Prem Beteta was a prominent Guatemalan politician and economist who served as Minister of Finance and later as President of the Congress during the revolutionary period of the 1950s. He played a key role in advocating for reforms in the banking sector, particularly during the Tercer Gobierno de la Revolución, where he sought to amend the Organic Law of the Bank of Guatemala, although his actions ultimately led to a weakening of the bank's autonomy.
