Guadalupe Maldonado

Guadalupe Maldonado is a former resident of Colonia Roma in Mexico City, where she lived for 22 years before being displaced due to the 2017 earthquakes. Her former home has since been transformed into an Airbnb, which has sparked feelings of nostalgia and anger over gentrification and rising living costs in the area. As a member of the collective 'Víctimas de la Gentrificación', she advocates for the rights of original residents to return to their homes and maintain their cultural identity amidst the influx of foreign tourists and rising rental prices.
