Guillermo Monge

Guillermo Monge is an engineer and former executive president of the Instituto de Fomento y Asesoría Municipal (IFAM) in Costa Rica, known for his expertise in municipal solid waste management. He has been an advocate for developing effective waste treatment solutions, including incineration and biodigestion, although he acknowledges the financial constraints facing Costa Rica in implementing such technologies. Recently, he highlighted the challenges posed by new governmental regulations that threaten the sustainability of waste management facilities.
