Gulnara Imankulova

Gulnara Imankulova is a long-time resident of the village of Zarichny in North Kazakhstan, having lived there for 45 years. Her home is located close to the river, making it particularly vulnerable to flooding. Gulnara has experienced severe floods multiple times, including in 2017 and 2024, which left her home submerged for months. Despite receiving government compensation for damages, she struggles with persistent dampness and mold in her home. Gulnara expresses a willingness to relocate, recognizing that living in constant flood risk is untenable.
