Gulshoda Abdiyeva, an honored artist of Uzbekistan and a lecturer at the Uzbekistan State Choreography Academy, was also a member of the cultural delegation traveling to New York for an event celebrating Uzbekistan's independence when the September 11 attacks happened. She was pregnant at the time and was relocated to business class during the flight, where she shared a harrowing experience of the events that unfolded that day.
