Gumar Sergazin, born in 1986 in the Kostanay region of Kazakhstan, has developed a robust career in public service and the energy sector since starting at the Saryarka population service center in 2008. He has held various positions, progressing from a legal advisor to deputy chairman of the Committee for Atomic and Energy Supervision. From 2017 to 2023, he served as deputy chairman of the same committee, and since March 2023, he has been the director of the Department of Atomic Energy and Industry within the Ministry of Energy. Recently, he was appointed as the deputy head of the newly established Agency for Nuclear Energy by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
