Günther Messner
Günther Messner was an Italian mountaineer and the younger brother of the renowned climber Reinhold Messner. He gained posthumous fame for his tragic death during an expedition on Nanga Parbat in 1970, which contributed to the mountain's notorious reputation as the 'Killer Mountain.' The brothers attempted to climb Nanga Parbat via the Rupal face, one of the most challenging routes in the world. Sadly, while descending, Günther fell to his death, and his body was not recovered until decades later, sparking ongoing discussions about the risks of high-altitude climbing and the ethics of adventure sports.
