Gursher Singh Sandhu

Gursher Singh Sandhu is a former Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Punjab, who was dismissed from service in October 2024 due to serious allegations of fraud, forgery, and corruption. He is embroiled in a major investigation for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, having reportedly spent around Rs 2.59 crore while earning only Rs 26 lakh over a three-year period. Sandhu is also accused of extortion, land fraud, and facilitating a controversial televised interview of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi while in police custody, which led to widespread public and political backlash. Following the rejection of his pre-arrest bail plea, he has reportedly fled abroad as authorities intensify their manhunt.
