Gustav von Kahr

Gustav von Kahr was a Bavarian politician and a prominent member of the Bavarian People's Party (BVP) during the early 20th century. He served as the Minister-President of Bavaria from 1920 to 1921 and again from 1924 to 1928. Kahr is noted for his role in the political landscape of post-World War I Germany, particularly for his attempts to suppress leftist movements and establish order after the tumultuous period of the Bavarian Soviet Republic. His support for the anti-democratic forces and his interactions with Adolf Hitler during the failed Beer Hall Putsch in 1923 positioned him as a controversial figure in the rise of the Nazi Party.
