Gvido De Sanktis

Gvido De Sanktis is the newly appointed Italian ambassador to Uzbekistan, having officially commenced his mission in Tashkent on January 5. A graduate of LUISS University in Rome, he joined the diplomatic service in 1991 and has held various positions in Italian embassies around the world, including in Libya, Ukraine, Switzerland, and Russia. His previous roles include serving as Italy's ambassador to Qatar and as a coordinator for the OSCE mission in Albania. De Sanktis aims to enhance political dialogue and promote economic, scientific, and cultural cooperation between Italy and Central Asia, particularly through the 'Italy - Central Asia' initiative.
