György Vashegyi

György Vashegyi is a prominent Hungarian conductor and harpsichordist, celebrated for his contributions to the field of historical performance practice. He founded the Orfeo Orchestra and the Purcell Choir shortly after the fall of the Iron Curtain, gaining international acclaim for his interpretations of Baroque and early Romantic music. His recent work includes a recording of Jean-Philippe Rameau's opera 'Castor et Pollux,' showcasing his dedication to reviving lesser-known works and his collaboration with the French Baroque scene.
