Hachikosela Muchimba

Hachikosela Muchimba, a 44-year-old former U.S. Postal Service worker from Washington, D.C., was recently convicted of stealing approximately $1.6 million in checks to finance a lavish lifestyle, which included international travel and luxury accommodations. Between December 2020 and March 2023, Muchimba executed a scheme involving the theft of U.S. Treasury and private party checks, which he deposited into various bank accounts after altering and falsely endorsing them. He was found guilty of multiple charges including mail theft and bank fraud, as well as unlawful procurement of citizenship, having provided false information to immigration officials during his naturalization application. His sentencing is scheduled for August 8, 2023, where he faces significant prison time.
