Hailiqihan Yusufu
Hailiqihan Yusufu, known as the 'Grape Girl', is a 78-year-old retired senior agronomist from Turpan, Xinjiang, who has significantly contributed to the local grape industry. Born in 1947 into a farming family, she pursued education in agricultural sciences and dedicated her life to improving grape cultivation in her hometown. Under her guidance, the grape planting area in Turpan expanded from 40,000 acres to 630,000 acres, and average yields increased from 700 to 2,500 kilograms per acre. Yusufu is celebrated for her innovative farming techniques and has received numerous awards for her contributions to agriculture.
