Hailton Correia de Arruda

Hailton Correia de Arruda, widely known as Manga, was a celebrated Brazilian football goalkeeper who gained prominence for his remarkable career at clubs such as Botafogo and Barcelona SC. Born in 1935, he represented Brazil in the 1966 World Cup and is remembered for his exceptional skills and achievements, including winning the Copa Libertadores and Intercontinental Cup with Nacional de Montevideo. After retiring from professional football in 1980, Manga continued to contribute to the sport as a goalkeeping coach, mentoring future stars. He passed away on April 8, 2023, at the age of 88, after battling cancer, leaving behind a legacy as one of the greatest goalkeepers in football history.
