Hamid Nangialay Kabiri

Hamid Nangialay Kabiri is a former Afghan diplomat who served as the consul at the Afghan consulate in Bonn, Germany. After the Taliban took control of Afghanistan in 2021, he vehemently opposed the recognition and collaboration with the group, referring to them as terrorists. Kabiri left his post in September 2023, shortly before the Taliban representatives assumed control of the consulate. He has expressed deep disappointment with the German government's decision to engage with the Taliban, viewing it as a betrayal of those who supported Afghan democracy. Kabiri is currently seeking asylum in Germany, stating that he has lost his first homeland and hopes to make Germany his second.
