Hani al-Dibs

Hani al-Dibs is a high-school teacher from Gaza who, after a prolonged period of conflict, faces the harrowing task of searching for the remains of his loved ones among the rubble left by the war against Hamas. With the recent cease-fire, he grapples with the deep emotional pain of loss, as he seeks to recover the bodies of his wife and two young sons, who have been missing for three months. The trauma of this experience is compounded by the overwhelming grief and despair felt by many Gazans as they confront the aftermath of the conflict.
