Hanna Wendot Cheptumo
Hanna Wendot Cheptumo has been nominated as the Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture, the Arts, and Heritage in Kenya. A lawyer and advocate for women's rights, she is the widow of the late Baringo Senator William Cheptumo, with whom she managed a legal practice. Born in Baringo County, Hanna's career in law was inspired by her husband's encouragement. Her recent appointment by President William Ruto is viewed as a tribute to her late husband's legacy and a commitment to the people of Baringo. If approved by the National Assembly, she will be the second Gender CS in Ruto's administration, succeeding Aisha Jumwa.
