Hannibal al-Ghadhafi
Hannibal al-Ghadhafi is the son of former Libyan dictator Muammar al-Ghadhafi. He gained international attention in 2008 when he was arrested in Switzerland for allegedly abusing household staff, an incident that escalated diplomatic tensions between Libya and Switzerland. Following the fall of his father's regime during the Arab Spring in 2011, he fled to various countries before being captured by a Shiite militia and subsequently imprisoned in Lebanon, where he has been held for over a decade without a fair trial. Recently, a Lebanese judge ordered his release on bail, but the likelihood of him raising the required eleven million dollars remains uncertain.
