Hariclea Darclée

Hariclea Darclée, born on June 10, 1860, in Brăila, Romania, was an internationally renowned operatic soprano celebrated for her exceptional vocal talent. She made her debut at the Paris Opera in 1888 and became known as one of the leading opera singers of her time, performing in prestigious venues across Europe and the Americas. Her remarkable career spanned over two decades, during which she collaborated with notable composers like Puccini, who dedicated the role of Tosca to her. Despite her success, Darclée faced financial challenges later in life and passed away in 1939.
