Harold II
Harold II, also known as Harold Godwinson, was the last Anglo-Saxon king of England, reigning from January 1066 until his death at the Battle of Hastings in October of the same year. A member of the prominent Godwin family, Harold ascended the throne following the death of Edward the Confessor, but his reign was marked by conflict, including a pivotal invasion by William the Conqueror. His rule ultimately ended the Anglo-Saxon era in England and began the Norman Conquest, significantly altering the course of English history.
