
Harrison Ruffin Tyler
Harrison Ruffin Tyler, born on November 9, 1928, was the last surviving grandchild of John Tyler, the 10th President of the United States. He co-founded ChemTreat, a successful water treatment company, and was deeply committed to preserving his family's legacy, overseeing the restoration of Sherwood Forest, his grandfather's historic plantation, and supporting the preservation of Fort Pocahontas. Tyler was also a benefactor of the College of William and Mary, where a history department is named in his honor. He passed away at the age of 96 on May 25, 2023.
