Hasan Homeini

In his early fifties, Hasan Homeini is the grandson of the founder of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, which grants him significant religious and revolutionary legitimacy. Although he serves as the custodian of Khomeini's mausoleum, he has not held prominent public positions and appears to have limited influence within Iran's security apparatus and ruling elite, often seen as less hardline than many of his contemporaries.
