Hassan Mlai Mashoto is a member of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) and was declared the winner of the chairmanship for the Mtaa of Gezaulole in Kigoma Ujiji during the local government elections, but his victory was later annulled by the court due to evidence of electoral malpractice.
