Hassan Qassem Soleimani

Hassan Qassem Soleimani was a major general in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran and the commander of its Quds Force, serving as a key figure in Iran's military and foreign policy, particularly in relation to conflicts in Iraq and Syria. He was known for orchestrating Iran's military operations abroad and was considered a pivotal player in the country's efforts to expand its influence in the region. Soleimani was killed in a U.S. drone strike in January 2020, an event that heightened tensions between the U.S. and Iran and made him a martyr figure in Iranian society.
