Hatsue Fukumine is a 90-year-old survivor of the Battle of Okinawa, who has shared her experiences of fleeing air raids in her childhood on the small island of Tarama. After moving to the main island as a teenager, she worked in a pineapple canning factory and has spent the last decade hosting a weekly community radio show, reflecting on her wartime memories and the impact of the conflict on Okinawa's history.
